Welcome to TEAM
Welcome to the vibrant world of the Eventing Association of Michigan (TEAM)! As a spirited not-for-profit, we're on a mission to ignite the love for eventing across our beautiful state. Born from the esteemed Michigan Combined Training Association (MCTA) in the late 1970s, our roots run deep in promoting equestrian sports. What started with Bob Hutton's vision has blossomed into a dynamic organization offering levels from Training to Starter, ensuring there's something for every rider. Safety reigns supreme as we evolve, with protective gear and meticulously crafted obstacles enhancing every experience. Join us as we gallop into the future of eventing in Michigan!
In 2001, the US Combined Training Association transformed into the US Eventing Association (USEA), marking a pivotal moment for equestrian enthusiasts. Following suit, MCTA proudly emerged as The Eventing Association of Michigan - TEAM!

Eventing Outside of TEAM
TEAM supports and recognizes a number of events within the state of Michigan, but it is independent from the United States Eventing Association (USEA), the national body for eventing in the US. Events sanctioned by USEA are known as "recognized" events; placings in these events count towards the national rankings and qualifications for the annual American Eventing Championships.
While all of Michigan's USEA-recognized events are recognized by TEAM, not all TEAM events are recognized by the USEA. Eligibility for USEA events and awards requires USEA membership*, which is separate from your TEAM membership.
Area 8 (along with Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and parts of Pennsylvania and Illinois). Area 8 offers programs for junior and adult riders, year-end championships, and annual awards.
